Our method cards on slideshare created quite a buzz on twitter and since monday they have been viewed more than 2200 times.
We are delighted by all the responses on the beta of the method cards and so we ll make it a open project. you can be part of it. We will be coordinating it through a basecamp project (a handy project management tool, in case you dont know). If you are interested send a mail to borisfriedrich.milkowski@unisg.ch and he will reply with an invitation to that basecamp project. All contributers of course will be namely mention in the new set.
official twitter hashtag: #opencards
Further information:
When we came up with the initial idea for the cards we wanted to make some really simple and effective tool for our peers of the course (we have student teams working on design thinking projects for major global companies, we are part of the me310 Stanford University’s course). Basically it should be a tool to explain design thinking to someone who doesnt know.
We printed 200 sets and giving them right now to our peers. additional we published it on slideshare and it got quite some exposure. And what we appreciate the most, a lot of critisicm.
As it was a beta only (which is written on each an every card) we are open for feedback and go one step further by opening it.
So this basecamp tool should help us to get a group of design thinking enthusiasts co-working together on the 2.0 Version of the set, in a protected environment. There are no limits of contents. Whatever you decide what you want to see in there should be in there. E.g. there were calls for topics like environmental impact or complaints that the structure was too linear, that design thinking projects should be throughout a whole project diverging and many more…
If you have a new field or topic, open up a new message. you can attach files. feedback can be posted under. If you have people you invite you can give me their email to invite them to this group.
Let’s try to have the 2.0 Version ready and printed by Christmas 2011.
Every one who contributes will be of course namely mentioned. How we distribute, if they will be commercial or not, is something we can discuss later on. We are also open for professional designers to take on with the look of the cards.
See you in basecamp!
Invitation you will receive after sending me a mail to borisfriedrich.milkowski@unisg.ch
